It’s time for our fourth annual block party! We are putting the finishing touches on the arrangements and want to let you know how your family can pitch in.
This feature is back this year by popular demand, to ensure that as many people as possible can contribute. You can sign up for as many activities listed below as you want, and you can make changes at any point, even after you sign up.

Yes, the bake-off contest is back this year, too! If your family is planning to bring a dessert, we encourage you to consider entering it in the contest for one of three prizes (silliest, most unique, and most colorful)! Sign up below.

October 4th, 2016 at 7:15PM to 9PM – Fall Meeting
The 2016 Fall membership/business/elections meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 4th, from 7:15 PM-9:00 PM. We will meet in the Welcome Center on the 2nd floor of the Katzen Arts Center (4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016)
This is a meeting for legal residents of the Ft. Gaines neighborhood.
- Members in good standing will discuss/vote on business including:
- Officer Reports
- FGCA survey results
- DC Riversmart Program – assess interest in a presentation during February FGCA meeting.
- Discussion of ANC meetings
- Turtle Park update
- Neighborhood Issues
- FGCA Officer Elections
- New business as needed.
*For the new neighbors (and ALL neighbors) that have moved into Ft. Gaines, it is important that you come and be an active part of your neighborhood. The great reasons you moved here don’t automatically happen. It takes all of us to contribute to keep Ft. Gaines a special neighborhood.
Please join the Citizens Association. Membership fee is $20 for the year to support your neighborhood.

Back to School Picnic, sponsored by American University Community Relations and the Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church.
American University’s Office of Community Relations and the Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church cordially invite you to attend a back to school picnic to celebrate the beginning of the new school year.
The picnic will take place on Sunday, September 11 from 12:00 p.m. ‘ 2:00 p.m. at the Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church at 3401 Nebraska Avenue, NW, across the street from AU’s main campus. All are invited to attend.
Lunch and kid’s activities will be provided. Come out and meet AU students and see your neighbors as we kick off the 2016 school year in style.
